Great Tasting Coffee

A great cup of coffee can make all the difference in the world. If you have an older coffee machine, then it might be beneficial to investigate how the coffee world has advanced since your last coffee maker purchase. Did you know that there are modern coffee machines that can actually enhance the taste of a cup of coffee through their built-in water filtration feature?

I have always preferred coffee makers that don’t have a heating plate. A thermal caraffe not only saves money by allowing you to shut off the coffee maker and still keep your coffee hot for many hours, it also prevents your coffee from getting cooked. The worst thing to do is cook your coffee on a heating element. Any longer than 20 minutes and all the filtered water in the world won’t make it taste better.

Plus if you have a filtration system seperate from your coffee maker that filters ALL your water before you use it for anything, spending the extra money for one in your coffee maker doesn’t make any sense.

You also have to watch out for the filtering systems that contain cheap carbon filters. They don’t make anything better, and actually add contaminates to your water. Most of these coffee makers, regardless of price, contain cheap quality filters. Easy way to tell if it’s cheap or not is to run plain water through it instead of making coffee. Shut it off and let it sit for an hour or so. Then check the bottom of your pot for stuff that shouldn’t be in your water.
